MOUNT STREET

This Grade II Listed Victorian Presbytery and Vestry situated in Mayfair’s Mount Street is used by church community groups and for parish activities. The building comprises some superb spaces, the most prominent being a double height Parish Hall, a multi-functional space hosting lectures, screenings, events and clubs. However years of haphazard repairs and alterations had left them looking somehow tired.
 
Sketch Design secured Listed Building consent and working closely with the client and specialist subcontractors, we developed meticulous detailing and oversaw the delivery on site.
 
Works to the original historic fabric included careful renovation of the original timber panelling, replacement of modern panel radiators with a more suitable cast iron Victorian design. Plasterwork and the flooring were refurbished, and a more refined and sympathetic colour scheme introduced. To improve the acoustic and thermal performance of the impressive original stained glass windows, discrete secondary glazing was installed and room ambience was further improved by large, wall mounted sound absorbing panels. Other works included installation of new AV, large bespoke joinery items, FF&E, lighting and window dressing.
